Sciatica occurs when pressure is applied on the sciatic nerve causing radiating pain. The sciatic nerve starts in your lower back through your hips, buttocks and down each leg. Sciatica can occur suddenly or over time depending on the cause. You may experience sciatica at any age but it is mostly common in people between the ages of 30 and 50. People with sciatica may experience symptoms such as moderate to severe pain. You may feel numbness and weakness in your lower back, hips, buttocks or down your legs. You  may also experience pins and needles in your feet.
