Hip Pain Physical Therapy

The hip is a large ball and socket joint which allows us mobility to turn and walk around. When the Hip is injured or in pain it can be quite a debilitating and painful. Hip injuires can cause pain that not only affects the hips but can radiate down to the upper thighs, groin, and buttocks.

There are many reasons one may experience hip pain, from a slip and fall injury to a more chronic degenerative disease.  Some common conditions that cause hip pain are:

 

After an injury or surgery, a rehabilitation program with a physical therapist can help you regain strength, restore flexibility, and improve the range-of-motion in your hip. Your therapist will work with you to design a custom treatment plan based on your needs and symptoms. Your treatment plan can include anything from exercises and stretches, to laser therapy. Your therapist may include other treatments such as massage and hot and cold therapy to help alleviate pain.
