How Can We Help With Post COVID-19?

Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy can help get you back on your feet after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Complications after COVID-19 can last for days, weeks, months or even years. These complications may include impairments in muscle strength, heart and lung capacity, pain, balance, dizziness and walking ability.

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19. Physical therapy and Occupational therapy can help patients gradually return to activities through movement and strengthening exercises, which will help improve a patient's endurance and strength.

Poor respiratory function may cause you to have difficulty and shortness of breath while participating in your daily activities and work duties. Physical therapy and occupational therapy can help patients with deep breathing techniques and core stability exercises. Physical therapy can also provide pulmonary rehab either in the home or clinic.

Mild or severe COVID-19 patients can experience a reduction in cardiac endurance. Your physical therapist and occupational therapist will recommend aerobic exercises and activities that are of interest to the patient such as bicycling, dancing or aquatic therapy to improve engagement.
