Neck pain can be a major annoyance..

Physical Therapy can reduce your neck pain

Neck pain can be a major annoyance and when really bad, completely incapacitating.  The pain and immobility can make daily tasks extremely difficult.

There are many reasons that one could experience neck pain including:

Degeneration is another common cause of neck pain. Joints in your neck, called cervical vertebrae, gradually wear down as we age. This is known as osteoarthritis.  Sometimes the problem is simple, like spending too much time slouched over your smartphone, which is causing your pain.

Physical therapy can be used effectively to treat a variety of neck conditions. Neck therapy with a physical therapist will begin with a thorough evaluation to determine the root of your pain and what the best course of treatment is for you. They will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs.

Some treatments that may be used by your therapist, are manual therapy or manipulation, massage therapy, ultrasound technology, electrical stimulation, and different targeted exercises and stretches to improve range of motion and strength.  Your therapist may also suggest different ergonomic changes you can make if something in you’re daily activities is causing your pain. Sometimes something as silly as adjusting the chair you work from can make all the difference and help you avoid further injury.

Our team here at Reddy Care Physical and Occupational therapy has considerable experience assessing and treating neck pain and different neck conditions.  If you are experiencing neck pain it's important to seek treatment early before it gets worse. Give us a call to schedule a consultation and find out how we can help you!
