Safe summer activities for your knees

Knee Pain and Physical Therapy

With summer around the corner, comes more people partaking in outdoor exercises, and activities. While you are out and about, it’s important to take the necessary steps to make sure you are keeping yourself safe and preventing injuries where you can.  Your knees especially are susceptible to injury, being the largest joint in your body and are easily damaged.

There are certain precautions you can take to avoid knee pain or injury this summer:

If you do sustain a knee injury, treating it quickly is key. For minor injuries, doctors often recommend the RICE method (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) for the first 24 hours.  Physical therapy is another common treatment for knee conditions and injuries.

Our experienced team of therapists here at Reddy Care Physical therapy have experience treating a variety of knee injuries and can design a treatment plan to help you get relief from your knee pain. Using a combination of different modalities such as, strengthening and stretching exercises, ultrasound technology, and laser therapy they can aid in the healing process.  They will work with you on your goals and even give you tips to keep your knees safe in the future.

You don’t have to suffer in pain, give us a call today to find out more about how physical therapy can help you!
