Treating Knee Pain with Physical Therapy

Treating Knee Pain with Physical Therapy

Your knees are the largest joint in the body and are made up of three bones and several tendons and ligaments that hold the bones together. Because of their complex nature, the knees are more susceptible to injury. It’s important to take proper care of your knees to avoid injury and protect them from wear and strain. We rely on our knees for many of our daily activities and when they begin to show signs of wear it makes everyday tasks difficult.

Physical therapy can be beneficial in the treatment of minor and more serious knee conditions. Treatment with a physical therapist will begin with a personal evaluation and assessment to figure out the best course of treatment to treat your specific knee condition.  There are a variety of methods and treatments that can be used by a physical therapist to relieve your knee pain and help improve your knee strength and range of motion.

Whether it’s a program of exercises and stretches to improve your mobility or a course of ultrasound therapy to promote healing, they will work to help you meet your functional goals. Working with you on your gait and posture can also help to keep your knees healthy and prevent any further injury.

At Reddy Care Physical and Occupational Therapy, we can get you set up with the right therapist for you. Call today to schedule a consultation!
