What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Benefits of Manual Therapy

Most people, when they think of massage therapy, think of a relaxing spa, some may even think it’s something frivolous or a luxury. What a lot of people don’t know is that Massage therapy has a wide range of health benefits and can be used in the treatment of injuries and other issues. Therapeutic massage is a hands-on therapy that involves techniques that can be used to target specific tissues in your body, like muscles, joints, lymph nodes, and tendons and address them.

What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Besides helping you to relax and relieve pain, massage therapy can do a lot in terms of healing. Massage Therapy is used to improve circulation, which helps nourish cells and improve waste elimination, it offers relief for tight muscles, releases nerve compression (like Sciatica), it can increase flexibility and range of motion, and generally enhance energy and vitality.

Massage therapy is not only done at a spa by a massage therapist but can also be done in a medical setting by a physical therapist (and potentially covered by your health insurance). Physical therapists use this in conjunction with other forms of treatment like laser, stretching, and exercise to aid in the healing process. Massage therapy, otherwise known as manual therapy is effective in helping to treat a variety of different conditions like fibromyalgia, back and neck pain, arthritis, migraines sports and auto-related injuries.

If you are suffering and in pain, Reddy Care can help. Come in and get a consultation with one of our Physical Therapist and see if you are a candidate for massage therapy or one of the many other services we provide.
